Fundraising for Renbu Kenshi

100% of donations and funds generated from our fundraising activities go directly towards supporting our athletes’ goals of participating at the highest level of competition representing BC and Canada. Your support will leverage their financial ability to compete in national and international tournaments, and participate in seminars and practice sessions to reach these goals.

We are a not-for-profit organization run purely by volunteers, including our high calibre of senseis/instructors. For over 45 years we have been focused on promoting active health, mental strength and wellbeing for all ages and genders and invite you on this journey.

Whether you are an active participant, past member, supporter, or curious onlooker we thank you for your interest and support for our kenshi at Renbu Dojo! Learn how you can support our members in various fundraising activities and also check out some cool and valuable products and services too! If you would like to get involved or contribute, please contact us anytime. We thank you for your support!

How it works:

Need some gift cards? Looking to book a flight? How about some deals on sportswear? With FlipGive you can find pretty much every product and service under the sun.

Here’s how to get started:

1. Create an account for yourself through the Renbu Team Link or enter the Join Code B5RNC4 if prompted.

2. Click through FlipGive whenever you are shopping at any of its partner stores

A small percentage of the vendor’s sale goes towards the club. If you’re going to shop for a new chair or electronic gadget, why not do it through FlipGive. You get all the same prices (sometimes better than retail) and the dojo benefits too. Win-win!

Tru Earth provides environmentally friendly options for laundry and dishwasher detergent, as well as other items for your kitchen and cleaning needs.

Renbu gets a whopping 20% of proceeds.

We’ve been using Tru Earth laundry detergent for almost 3 years now, and it’s a fantastic product. It’s really useful for travel, too, since it’s not liquid or powder as you can bring a few sheets with you on the road.

Do you have empty cans and bottles?

Help support our club by donating your empty recyclable cans and bottles to Return-It Express for our ongoing bottle drive.

Turn that weekend bender into a win-win by bringing your bottles and cans (looking at you Fred Yoshimura and Makiko Ara-sensei) to your nearby Return-It Express center.

How to get involved:

3 easy steps:

  1. Bring your unsorted containers in sealed, clear plastic bags to your nearest Return-It Express
  2. Use phone number (604) 733-8419 to login at the Express kiosk. Print off the number of tags needed (maximum 6 per visit)
  3. Tag your bags and place it in the express bin or drop-off window.

How it works:

We are partnering with Plant Based Workshop a local producer of healthy Asian-inspired plant-based products to prepare at home. Their popular prep-at-home ramen and udon packs; and ready-to-bake vegan treats are carried in 70+ local supermarkets across BC.

15% of the sale through the Renbu Fundraiser Form will be donated back to the club.

The Workshop Vegetarian Cafe in North Vancouver was named in the Top 6 Healthy Restaurants by the Vancouver Sun, and Top 100 Places to Eat in Canada by Yelp! We should also mention that The Workshop is owned by Takashi Yamada sensei from Vancouver Kendo Club, and his sister Mayumi Bae, who also used to do kendo!
